Join Our Team as Financial Controller – Eastwood, Nottingham

Are you a qualified accountant with a passion for operational leadership and people management? We’re looking for a Financial Controller to lead our finance function and take ownership of business administration and HR.

This is a senior role in a growing manufacturing business, focused on financial accounting management & reporting but also offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, streamline operations, and foster a positive workplace culture. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and liaise with our overseas subsidiaries to consolidate group accounts and drive performance.

Experience with SAP Business One or similar ERP systems is highly advantageous, as is a strong understanding of stock control and WIP accounting.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to lead our finance function while also overseeing business administration and HR. This is a key leadership role within our manufacturing business, requiring a blend of financial expertise, commercial awareness, and HR administration / compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting and financial statements.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across departments.
  • Oversee ledger, credit control, cash flow, working capital, payroll, bank guarantees and treasury functions (including FX).
  • Ensure compliance with international accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Provide accounting for stock control and WIP within a manufacturing environment.
  • Consolidate group accounts across UK and 3 overseas subsidiaries.
  • Develop and optimise the use of SAP Business One ERP system for accounts related transactions and reports.

Business Administration

  • Manage administrative functions including corporate governance, office operations, statutory and general compliance documentation.
  • Support the Directors in strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Ensure smooth coordination across departments and subsidiaries.

Human Resources

  • Oversee HR policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Support performance management, training, and development initiatives.
  • Liaise with external HR advisors and legal counsel as needed.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in group consolidation and multi-entity reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP Business One.
  • Experience supporting HR and business administration functions.
