Job summary

Green Folk is seeking a Financial Controller in Droitwich Spa. You will lead the finance team, manage month-end close, oversee cash flow, and ensure robust controls across ledgers and fixed assets. The role reports to senior leadership and partners with corporate finance for reporting.

Key responsibilities include annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, year-end audits, and driving continuous improvements across finance processes and systems.

Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified required or equivalent
• Strong grasp of US GAAP desirable
• Experience operating at controller level essential
• Manufacturing costing knowledge beneficial

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor the finance team to drive high performance and development.
• Review and approve monthly accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee cash management and forecasting for local and corporate leadership.
• Maintain fixed asset register and conduct periodic asset inspections.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers ensuring robust controls and efficiency.
• Prepare weekly/monthly presentations detailing financial performance.
• Coordinate year-end audit and statutory accounts with external auditors.
• Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts; drive process improvements.
• Ensure governance and internal controls align with policies and regulations

Financial Controller

Droitwich Spa, 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday & 8am – 1.30pm Friday

Qualifications

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of US GAAP accounting is desirable
• Previous experience operating at a controller level
• Manufacturing experience with an understanding of costing

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, develop, and mentor the finance team, supporting a high-performance culture and individual development.
• Review and approve monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Cash management & forecasting for local leadership and corporate leadership
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and undertaking periodic fixed asset inspections
• Oversee the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and process efficiency.
• Create weekly and monthly presentations to detail the financial performance of the business
• Liaising with key stakeholders (local leadership team and corporate team) to provide ad-hoc reporting and information
• Coordinate the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation, acting as the key contact for external auditors.
• Preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure strong financial governance and internal controls are maintained in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
