Job description

Robert Walters are delighted to be supporting a fast growing SME, who are looking to hire a Finance Manager on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. You'll work closely with the local management teams, operational leaders, and auditors to ensure reliable financial reporting, efficient processes, and continuous improvement.

You'll play a key role in supporting growth, ensuring financial accuracy, and contributing to the professionalisation of finance within these businesses.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Financial reporting: Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Budgeting & forecasting: Coordinate the budget and forecast processes for both entities, ensuring alignment with business plans.
  • Financial control: Maintain balance sheet integrity, oversee reconciliations, and ensure proper application of accounting policies.
  • Process improvement: Streamline reporting and finance processes, promoting efficiency and consistency across both sites.
  • Compliance & audit: Ensure adherence to IFRS, UK GAAP, and internal policies. Prepare and support external audits.
  • Business partnering: Provide financial insight and advice to local management to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Systems & reporting: Use Sage as the core accounting system and contribute to reporting and analysis through Excel and Power BI.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to harmonise reporting, share best practices, and support integration activities.

You are a reliable, detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. You combine technical accounting expertise with a practical, hands-on approach, and you value teamwork, ownership, and continuous improvement.

You bring:

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CA Qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working with Sage 200 accounting system would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong Excel and Power BI skills for reporting and analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • A proactive, organised, and problem-solving mindset.
