Job summary

Altum Group in London is seeking a qualified Financial Controller to own the finance function during a pivotal growth phase. You will bring in-house management accounting, strengthen reporting and build scalable processes to support rapid expansion.

You'll partner with the leadership team, model commercial scenarios, oversee relationships with outsourced providers, and help shape strategic decisions as the business grows internationally.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with strong management accounting experience.
• Experience in SME or founder-led environments.
• Commercial mindset with ability to partner with senior stakeholders.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to our CEO, you'll take ownership of the finance function at an important stage in our journey.

Finance is currently delivered through a combination of an outsourced provider and internal support. Your challenge will be to bring management accounting and commercial finance capability in-house, strengthen reporting, build scalable processes and create a finance function that enables the business to grow.

You'll work closely with our leadership team, modelling different commercial scenarios, providing meaningful financial insight and helping shape strategic decisions as we continue to expand.

You'll also manage relationships with our outsourced finance partners and advisers, ensuring everyone is aligned and delivering against expectations.

This is a highly visible role with real influence across the business.

About You

You'll ideally be a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with strong management accounting and financial control experience, ideally gained within an SME, founder-led or professional services environment.

You're commercially minded, enjoy improving processes, and are confident partnering with senior stakeholders to turn financial information into business insight. Most importantly, you're ambitious and excited by the opportunity to grow with a business where you can make a visible impact.

Experience in recruitment isn't essential, but an interest in technology, automation and continuous improvement would be a real advantage.
