Job description
Overview

Attio is on a mission to redefine CRM for the AI era. We're building the first AI-native CRM - designed for the most ambitious go-to-market teams. We recently announced our $52M Series B, led by GV (Google Ventures), with support from Redpoint, Balderton, Point Nine, and 01A. Our team thrives on solving complex technical challenges, delighting our users, and setting a new standard for the industry.

About the role

Our Finance team sits at the heart of Attio's growth-ensuring accuracy and compliance while acting as a strategic partner to the wider business. We provide the visibility, control, and insights that help teams make smarter decisions, scale efficiently, and operate with confidence. As Attio continues to expand, Finance plays a critical role in shaping the systems, processes, and structures that will sustain our next phase of growth.

As our Financial Controller, you\'ll take ownership and accountability for Attio\'s core accounting and reporting activities, ensuring our financial operations are accurate, compliant, and built to scale. You\'ll design and implement robust processes, strengthen internal controls, and deliver insights that inform strategic decisions across the company.

This is a leadership-level role, working closely with Operations, Legal, GTM, and Leadership teams to bring visibility, control, and efficiency to how we operate. You\'ll balance hands-on delivery with forward-looking improvements, helping us mature our financial function as we move into our next stage of growth.

What you\'ll do

In this role, you\'ll take ownership of building and running key financial processes-balancing precision, accountability, and partnership to help Attio scale with confidence.

  • Ensure compliance - Lead on tax, statutory reporting, and audits, ensuring obligations are met and risks are mitigated.
  • Own the numbers - Deliver monthly management accounts and a smooth month-end close, providing leadership with clarity and confidence.
  • Run daily operations - Oversee AP, AR, and GL management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Manage global payroll - Coordinate payroll across multiple geographies with external providers.
  • Strengthen controls - Build and refine internal controls and accounting policies that can grow with the business.
  • Drive cross-functional projects - Partner with Finance leadership on initiatives that improve visibility, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Be a trusted partner - Collaborate with teams across Attio, helping them understand their numbers and make informed decisions.
What you\'ll bring

This is a leadership-level position, and we\'re seeking a Financial Controller with the expertise, presence, and track record to operate at head of/director level.

  • Proven leadership: You\'ve led company-wide audits and driven complex financial operations, with experience spanning both global accounting firms (Big 4 strongly preferred) and hypergrowth startups that have scaled rapidly in headcount and revenue.
  • Technical excellence: You hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) and bring deep knowledge of IFRS (US GAAP a plus), with the rigour and detail to ensure accuracy and compliance at scale.
  • Systems and process fluency: You know how to design scalable processes and leverage tools for efficiency, automation, and insightful reporting.
  • Commercial acumen: You connect financials to commercial outcomes and can translate data into actionable insights that influence strategy.
  • Leadership and influence: You have experience leading teams or senior stakeholders, with the presence to act as a trusted advisor and elevate Finance across the organisation.
  • Drive and autonomy: You\'re proactive, resilient, and thrive in the fast-paced, hands-on environment of a scaling SaaS startup.

We offer bespoke, tailored packages that reflect each applicant\'s technical aptitude, commercial background, seniority, and cultural alignment with our team.
