Role Overview

This role covers all aspects of financial and management accounting for SCIRIS Group Limited and certain subsidiaries. It includes responsibility for the production of accurate management information, with a commercial finance element supporting the budgeting and forecasting process. You will also play a key role in supporting leadership to develop sound and robust financial controls and processes that are replicable across the rest of the Group subsidiaries. You will manage the year‑end process, including project management of the group audit, the production of consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, and support on the Group's tax compliance work.

Key Responsibilities for the Financial Controller
Accounting & Reporting
  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable and their related functions.
  • Produce month‑end management information with supporting commentary, including monthly income statement and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and correct filings for VAT and periodic support on annual payroll filings and taxes.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the agency and group function can meet its obligations.
  • Support the processing of payroll, pensions, and other related matters.
  • Assist with developing strategies to optimise cash flow and working capital.
Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • Advise the group on changes in accounting standards and implement best‑practice procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting across the group.
  • Prepare accounting memos to support key decisions, such as for acquisitions or disposals.
  • Produce consolidated financial statements for the Group and support in the production of the subsidiary financial statements.
  • Coordinate internally and project‑manage the audit to ensure a timely completion.
  • Design and implement changes to the finance and wider functions following any control recommendations.
Financial Strategy and Risk Management
  • Collaborate with other finance members and agency heads to align financial goals with overall group strategy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
Other
  • Support the wider finance function where necessary, such as for periods of leave.
  • Improve system automation and efficiency.
  • Support on the forecasting and budgeting process.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar), likely 2‑5 years post‑qualification.
  • Excellent Excel skills are required.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines.
  • A track record of designing and rebuilding processes to support driving efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of US and Canadian structures beneficial but not required.
  • Experience within a PE‑backed business and / or with leveraged businesses beneficial but not required.
