Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant with ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Experience as Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar.
  • Experience in management accounting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical and business insight skills.
  • Commercial mindset with stakeholder influence.
  • Experience leading process improvements and finance transformations.
  • Experience overseeing investments or investment reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function across multiple group entities.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets & cashflow reporting.
  • Deliver commercial insight and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability and business performance.
  • Maintain financial controls, balance sheet integrity and statutory compliance.
  • Manage year-end accounts, consolidations and audit processes.
  • Oversee payroll, treasury and investment reporting activities.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks & professional advisors.
  • Lead finance process improvements and system developments.
  • Manage and develop the finance team.

Education

Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent)

Search are supporting the recruitment of a part-time Financial Controller to join an established business in Edinburgh. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this is a broad and commercially focused role with responsibility for the entire finance function across multiple entities.

This opportunity would be well suited to an experienced Financial Controller or an ambitious Management Accountant looking to step into a more strategic role. The role offers a genuine blend of strategic exposure and hands-on finance, providing regular interaction with senior decision-makers while remaining closely involved in reporting, forecasting, cash flow and financial control activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the finance function across multiple group entities
  • Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets & cashflow reporting
