Location: Birmingham (3 days per week)

Financial Controller - Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a small finance team of 3
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and board reports
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Ensure full compliance with CIS, VAT regulations, and payroll processes
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements
• Partner with project teams to support financial decision-making
• Liaise with auditors, HMRC, banks, and external advisors

Financial Controller - You:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Strong working knowledge of CIS, VAT compliance, and payroll
• Hands‑on approach with a willingness to get involved in day‑to‑day operations
• Not accustomed to large teams or heavily structured environments
• Ideally from a similar‑sized business in the construction sector
• Commercially minded with strong communication and leadership skills
