Group Financial Controller
Location: Whitchurch, Hampshire
Salary: Circa £60k - £80k plus £50k company car and excellent benefits
Overview
This is a great opportunity to join a growing international manufacturing business as the Group Financial Controller. The company has manufacturing facilities in Whitchurch, Lithuania, China and India. The company produces specialist equipment used in the Manufacturing Industry, with processes including metal fabrication, presses, CNC Machining, metal brazing and assembly. All manufacturing facilities share the same high‑quality standards. Company turnover is circa £50m.
Key Requirements
- Experience in managing finance of multi‑national manufacturing
- Experience in Import & Export
- Experience in Costing Base / BOM's etc
Responsibilities
- Manage a financial team consisting of two people at Whitchurch, 2 in Lithuania, 3 in China and 2 in India.
- Undertake a GAP analysis of the financial team, review, update and modernise the team.
- Take ownership of the complete accounting & financial process.
- Preparation of monthly financial reporting on a regional, Business Unit & consolidated Operating Unit basis.
- Monthly P&Ls, cashflow and balance sheets.
- Chief Accounting Officer for regulatory and tax compliance in all regions.
- Supervision and oversight of regional accounting staff.
- Design, implementation & interface of systems [banking, payroll & A/P].
- Develop automated internal and external reporting tools.
- Act as primary contact with external tax firms during the year.
- Act as primary contact for auditors during their engagement and ongoing inquiries.
- Develop Policy & Procedures Manual.
- Implement any changes and recommendations from the audit report.
- Establish internal controls to safeguard financial integrity at Business Unit and Operating Unit levels.
- Detailed monitoring of variance to plan, summarising trends & investigating budget deficiency.
- Business partner to fellow Board members.
Person Requirements
- Hold a relevant accountancy qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or BSc in Accountancy.
- Strong manufacturing or engineering background, ideally managing multi‑national teams.
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards.
- Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis.
- Proven payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
- Exemplary history of financial project management.
- Working knowledge of UK tax compliance regulations and reporting.
- Sharp eye for business improvement with a challenging & inquisitive mindset to seek out opportunity.
