Job summary

Pulp-Tec in Cumbernauld is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join a growing finance team. In this office-based role, you will support day-to-day financial activities and contribute to month-end processes.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will handle bank reconciliations, journals, fixed asset accounting, and year-end tasks. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and reliability are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Bank reconciliations on GBP and multi-currency accounts.
• Completing month-end journals for wages, stock, prepayments, accruals, loans, and hire purchase.
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and calculating depreciation monthly.
• Manage and maintain inter-company balances and schedules.
• Ensure accurate data entry for computing monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Maintain inter-company balances and schedules.
• Finalising and formatting monthly management accounts in line with group requirements.
• Assist the finance manager for year-end final accounts; Fixed asset revaluation.
• Ensuring data stored and maintained in line with HMRC requirements.
• Assistance with mapping for group consolidation - German GAP.
• Assist with yearly budget calculations.

Our client, Pulp-Tec, is a well-established and growing business seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team in Cumbernauld. This is an office-based role offering the opportunity to become a key member of a professional and supportive finance team, where development is actively encouraged.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day finance function, supporting month-end processes, preparing journals, maintaining the fixed asset register, and assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach will be essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Bank Reconciliations on GBP and multi-currency accounts.
• Completing month-end journals to account for wages, stock, prepayments, accruals, loans, and hire purchase.
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and calculating depreciation monthly.
• Manage and maintain contra and suspense accounts.
• Ensure accurate data entry for computing our monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
• Maintain inter-company balances and schedules.
• Finalising and formatting monthly management accounts in line with group requirements.
• Assist the finance manager for final accounts completion at year end. This consists of:
• Fixed asset register revaluation.
• Ensuring all financial data is stored and maintained in line with HMRC requirements.
• Assistance with mapping for group consolidation - German GAP.
• Assist with the yearly budget calculations.

What They're Looking For

• Minimum of three years' relevant experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Experience of bank reconciliations, journal preparation, and month-end accounting processes.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial record keeping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently while also being a supportive team player
• Ability to commute reliably to G68 9HQ
