Reading Borough Council is seeking a proactive Financial Assessment & Benefits Officer to join the Client Finances team. You will perform financial assessments for adults receiving care, provide welfare benefits advice, and guide residents through charging policies and entitlements.

Hybrid working is supported, with a diverse role focusing on customer service, case management, and collaboration with partner organisations to ensure residents receive the support they need.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in customer-focused financial assessment, welfare benefits or social care environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload independently.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and electronic case management systems.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing financial information and decisions.

Aufgaben

• Carry out financial assessments for individuals receiving adult social care services, over the phone or via home visits.
• Provide welfare benefits advice and explain charging policies to residents and carers.
• Maintain accurate records and support benefit applications.
• Ensure customers understand contributions toward care costs and entitlements.
• Contribute to service improvements and stay updated on legislation and policy changes.
