Overview

Financial Analyst (Remote, NI Based) VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with one of Northern Ireland's largest public sector clients to recruit an experienced Financial Analyst to join their team in Belfast.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work closely with the VG/GMI Business Partner to support the development of accountability and monitoring processes.
  • To support the management of cash-flow issues for schools at risk and ensure timely access to appropriate funding sources.
  • To support the development of processes to confirm schools adherence to the conditions of the Emergency Grant Scheme.
  • To support the Business Partner on financial planning activities, including input into the in-year monitoring processes. This will include supporting the collation and submission of organisational bids.
  • In conjunction with the VG/GMI Business Partner, contribute to the Budget and Outturn Statements in line with statutory requirement.
  • To support the Business Partner with reporting on the current financial position and associated risks and actions to mitigate.
  • To support the Monthly Expenditure Monitoring Report (MEMR) process, cash drawdown requirements and Provisional and Final Outturns.
  • To support the review and development of the Financial and Audit Arrangements manual for VG/GMI schools.
  • To provide ongoing financial and budgetary support to Directorate/Service area.
  • To support the identification, management and reporting of key risks impacting on the delivery of team, directorate and company objectives.
  • To support the management and reporting of key risks to the organisation's budget.
  • Provide responses to Parliamentary Questions, Assembly Questions, Minister's cases, FOI requests and other correspondence within set deadlines.
  • Build and maintain effective, professional, and respectful stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop and maintain clear lines of communication and effective working partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other relevant duties as may be reasonably expected.
Candidate Requirements
  • Part Qualified Accountant or Newly Qualified Accountant
  • 2 years analysis experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Power BI Experience essential
  • Keen to develop career
