Job description
A BIT ABOUT FLOCK

At Flock we do insurance very differently. We're nearing 1 billion connected, insured miles. Meaning our real-time, data-driven approach enables us to price connected vehicle insurance and assess risk better than ever before, giving fleet owners the insights they need to improve safety. We don't just pay claims; we help our customers prevent them. We now insure hundreds of fleets in the UK, including the likes of Amazon, DPD, Uber and Bolt.

We've now raised over £50M and our goal is to become the leading insurance company for connected and autonomous vehicles, and we're building a world-class team to help us get there.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Financial Analyst to own reconciliations, drive automation, and deliver smoother finance operations for all stakeholders, helping us to build a best-in-class finance function.

WHAT WE THINK IS MOST EXCITING ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly into our Financial Controller, you'll have the chance to improve how things are done rather than simply following existing processes, with plenty of variety along the way. One day you might be working on bank reconciliations, the next building out process automation or collaborating with brokers to resolve issues. As an insurtech, we'll keep you close to the action, partnering with product, operations, and commercial teams to see first‑hand how finance underpins the wider business. You'll be part of a small, energetic team where your ideas and drive will make a visible impact, while sharpening your professional skills and gaining real opportunities for growth and development.

A LITTLE MORE ON WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Own and improve daily reconciliations across accounts, payments, and banking.
  • Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Post journal entries, accruals, and prepayments with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support month‑end close and contribute to management reporting.
  • Work with brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and improve workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual processes.
  • Get stuck into ad‑hoc projects, supporting the finance team.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO FLOCK
ESSENTIAL
  • At least 12 months of previous experience in a finance role (analyst, assistant accountant, or similar). We're fine if that's been in your first role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting basics: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Confident with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator, able to work effectively with both finance and non‑finance colleagues.
  • Self‑starter with the energy and drive to improve processes rather than just follow them.
  • Started studying towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
PREFERABLE
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or insurtech.
  • Exposure to process automation tools or data analysis software.
  • Previous involvement in month‑end close or management reporting.
WHAT WE OFFER (in addition to a competitive salary)
  • Participation in Flock's Share Option Scheme.
  • 25 days of holiday (+ Bank Holidays).
  • Workplace Pension.
  • Private Medical Insurance (including Optical & Mental Health).
  • Various Salary Sacrifice Schemes – Workplace Nursery, Holiday Purchase, Tech, Gym, Cycle to Work, Electric Vehicle, Private Medical Insurance for families.
  • Enhanced Parental Leave and Pay.
  • £1,000 toward relevant professional qualifications.
  • £500 per annum towards learning and development.
  • 3 days paid leave for L&D purposes.

At Flock, we typically follow a hybrid working model involving a minimum of 3 days per week spent in the office, which is based in Central London, a few minutes walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street.

ONE LAST THING…

Authenticity is important to us. We value the unique qualities and experiences you bring. So if you apply, just be your genuine self. It's who we want!
