Financial Accounting Manager

Wolverhampton (1 day per week working from home)

Up to £70,000 DOE + benefits

Are you an ambitious financial accountant ready to step up and make your mark? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing SME professional services business with ambitious growth plans and the chance to play a major part in the future expansion shape its finance function from the ground up.

As Financial Accounting Manager, you’ll work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team in a newly created role. Operating at Group level, you’ll take on a broad remit of responsibilities spanning reporting, financial accounting, business partnering, and investment accounting and future M&A projects.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring strong control, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Prepare consolidated management accounts, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage year-end reporting, audit, and statutory compliance.
  • Design and embed group-wide financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Partner with senior leaders to provide meaningful analysis and commercial insight.
  • Support growth and M&A activity through financial modelling, due diligence, and post-deal integration.
  • Build relationships with external advisors, lenders, and investors to support ongoing projects and funding.
About you
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP / IFRS and consolidations.
  • Experience within private equity, real estate or multi-entity group environments.
  • Commercially minded, with the confidence to partner with and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Keen to build on your financial accounting expertise while gaining exposure to growth, investment and M&A activity.
  • Comfortable in a hands‑on, evolving environment where you can shape how things are done.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
