We're looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join our high-performing Finance function and play a key role in supporting our mission. This is more than just a finance role — it's an opportunity to contribute to something truly meaningful.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Central Finance, you'll lead a small, dedicated team of Accountants and Finance Officers. Together, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing primary ledgers and financial controls
  • Producing and reconciling the balance sheet and cash flow
  • Ensuring VAT/Tax compliance and statutory accounts production
  • Overseeing external financial reporting and audit requirements

You’ll drive operational excellence and ensure technical compliance, while continuously improving processes and outputs across the team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a qualified accountant with experience in a complex organisation, who thrives on challenge and is passionate about making a difference. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in producing consolidated statutory accounts and managing external audits
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply financial legislation
  • A proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams to deliver results

This is a busy and rewarding role, and may occasionally require flexibility beyond core hours to meet key deadlines.

Why Join Us?

At the NSPCC, you’ll be part of a team that cares deeply about the work we do and the people we work with. You’ll find:

  • A shared purpose that brings out the best in you
  • Opportunities to grow and develop your career
  • A chance to make a real impact — not just in finance, but in the lives of millions of children
