Financial Accountant – 6-Month Contract

Location: Whitely (On-site Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: £360 PAYE per day

Working Pattern: 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday, on-site)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Senior Finance professional to support a range of business-critical activities over a 6-month period. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Financial Services and post‑qualification experience in a dynamic finance environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage BAU reporting changes to align with evolving business needs.
  • Drive BAU operational changes, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Participate in IT system testing to support finance‑related system upgrades and implementations.
  • Lead on acquisition accounting, ensuring accurate financial integration and reporting.
  • Manage year‑end processing, including preparation of statutory accounts and Solvency II (SII) reporting.
  • Support the year‑end audit process, liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Deliver training and handover of key finance processes to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
  • Oversee and manage additional finance resources, providing leadership and guidance.
Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA – CIMA not suitable).
  • Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience within the Financial Services sector.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and experience with complex reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
