Fresh are seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to join our UK Finance team in Sheffield. You’ll own day-to-day accounting, deliver timely reporting, and support decision-making across the business.

Based in the office three days per week with Monday as a core team day, you’ll work with Accounts Payable and tenant ledgers, drive process improvements, and explore automation and AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
• Solid month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience producing management accounts and analysing financial performance.
• Knowledge of VAT returns and reporting requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Job description

We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Financial Accountant to join our UK Finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play an important role in keeping our financial reporting accurate, timely, and insightful. From management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to VAT returns and month-end activities, you'll help ensure our finance function runs smoothly and supports the wider business effectively.

The Role

As our Financial Accountant, you'll be involved in the day-to-day accounting activities that keep the business moving. You'll take ownership of key reporting tasks, help maintain the accuracy of our financial data, and provide valuable information that supports decision-making across the organisation.
You'll also work closely with colleagues across the business, supporting Accounts Payable processes, assisting with tenant ledger reconciliations, and identifying opportunities to improve the way we work. If you enjoy solving problems, streamlining processes, and finding efficiencies, this could be a great fit for you.

We're looking for a finance professional with strong accounting experience, a proactive approach, and a genuine interest in improving how things are done.
Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience in a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, or Assistant Financial Accountant role.
• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), actively studying towards full qualification.
• A solid understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience producing management accounts and analysing financial performance.
• Knowledge of VAT returns and reporting requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
• An interest in process improvement, automation, and emerging technologies, including AI.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across the business.
