Job summary

Newstone Talent Solutions in Manchester is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a fast-growing group. This hands-on role covers day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and consolidation across a multi-entity structure, with scope to shape finance processes as the group expands.

You will work with the Financial Controller and support acquisitions/integration, driving improvements and automation using Excel and Xero. Hybrid working in Manchester is available with a competitive package and bonus.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or strong finalist with relevant experience.
• Solid financial accounting and month end experience in SME, start up or scale up environment.
• Experience managing or contributing to a full month end close.
• Multi-entity or consolidation experience.
• Good understanding of intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with Xero or similar systems.
• Process improvement mindset and automation interest.
• Ability to challenge existing processes and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage transactional finance across the group, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and credit control
• Complete bank, client account and balance sheet reconcilations
• Prepare month end journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany entries
• Prepare monthly management accounts for review by the Financial Controller
• Support group consolidation across multiple entities
• Take ownership of the accounting for overseas and joint venture entities
• Support onboarding and integration of newly acquired businesses
• Document existing finance processes and identify opportunities to improve and automate them
• Support claims, provisions and associated reconciliations
• Assist with statutory accounts, audit, VAT and payroll
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure month end processes are completed accurately and on time

Manchester | Hybrid | £55,000 to £60,000 plus bonus and benefits

A fast growing, acquisitive property technology business is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its newly established Manchester finance function.

This is a hands-on role with genuine scope to shape how the finance function operates as the group continues to grow through acquisition.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the day to day accounting, month end preparation and consolidation across a growing group of entities.

The Opportunity:

This is not a Financial Accountant role focused purely on reporting.

Initially, you will spend time working closely with an established finance team to understand and document existing processes before bringing them into the group's Manchester finance function.

You will then have the opportunity to improve, simplify and automate these processes as the business continues to scale.

The role will also provide exposure to acquisitions and integration, with responsibility for bringing new entities into the group's finance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

About You:
