This role requires a meticulous Financial Accountant to contribute to the success of a Financial Services organisation by managing financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will be qualified, with proven experience in leading Tax processes within a large organisation.

Description

Financial Accountant duties include:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving issues promptly
  • Prepare and manage accurate financial statements and reports
  • Oversee and lead all group tax processes, including corporation tax returns, VAT and CT61 submissions
  • Assess impacts of new tax regulations
  • Lead the preparation of year-end financial accounts, supporting a smooth audit process.
  • Monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends and variances.
  • Drive initiatives across management accounts to challenge existing processes and enhance controls
  • Maintain clear accounting and financial reporting process documentation, providing continuous analytical support to the wider finance team
A Successful Financial Accountant Should Have
  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA. (Fully Qualified)
  • Tax qualification desirable
  • Proven experience leading tax processes in large organisations
  • Background in Finance within regulated industries (Financial Services/Insurance preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Strong communicator, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels
