This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to step into a hands-on role that offers both autonomy and leadership within a busy finance team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in financial accounting, confidence in mentoring others, and a calm, resilient attitude suited to a fast-paced and high-profile working environment.

Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing core financial accounting tasks across accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, cashbook, and revenue recognition.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of monthly accounts and supporting the year-end process.
  • Performing regular reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of accounting records.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external audit requirements.
  • Supporting and developing two direct reports: the AP Supervisor and Revenue Finance Supervisor.
  • Overseeing journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and ledger management.
  • Approving bank payments and ensuring compliance with financial controls and procedures.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes.
  • Providing day-to-day support to junior team members, including trainee accountants.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely reporting and audit readiness.
Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, or ACMA, with experience from trial balance to audited accounts. They will bring strong financial accounting skills, some supervisory or mentoring experience, and a resilient, solutions-focused mindset. Proficiency in SAGE (or similar), Excel, and general IT systems is essential, along with excellent organisational and communication skills. A collaborative, approachable style and the ability to support others is key. Familiarity with the Channel Islands or aviation sector is an advantage but not essential.
