Job description

I am currently working with one of my International Law Firm clients to assist with the recruitment of a newly created Financial Accountant position 6‑month fixed term contract. This role will support the finance team in building a commercially focused, value‑adding department while maintaining a strong control environment.

You will work closely with senior finance leaders and business stakeholders, contributing to key financial processes, reporting, and projects. This position is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys partnering with the business to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the production of annual audited financial statements under FRS 102.
  • Liaise with auditors and international finance teams to ensure efficient audit completion.
  • Contribute to bank covenant reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and delivery of the annual business plan.
  • Manage month‑end close processes, including accounting entries and management reporting.
  • Partner with business services leaders to monitor financial performance and control costs.
  • Prepare commission statements and VAT returns.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including Payment Practices submissions.
  • Review and authorise payments across office and client accounts.
  • Support intercompany reconciliations and settlement processes.
  • Assist with financial integration of overseas operations.
  • Deliver ad hoc projects and reports as required.
Key requirements:
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 2 years' PQE.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102).
  • Experience in professional services is desirable but not essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Elite 3E is advantageous.
