A leading financial services firm in London is seeking a Financial Accountant to support month-end reporting and manage audit processes. Equifind are excited to have joined up with a leading financial services firm in London, who are looking for a financial accountant to join the business, to assist them during a rather busy time.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant to come in and support the wider finance team. You’ll get involved with month end reporting and getting the year‑end reports all done.

You’ll join a large finance team and get involved with as much as you can handle.

Key duties and responsibilities for this financial accountant position include:
  • Posting and reconciling various month end accounting journal entries as part of the consolidation of the international entities, including intercompany reconciliation and close out processes across multiple jurisdictions
  • Be the lead with the firm’s external auditors to ensure an effective and efficient audit process
  • Takes the lead in coordinating the provision of audit evidence and samples
  • Liaison with the outsourcing team to ensure efficient completion of month end processes
  • Preparation of various accounting schedules and reports to support the monitoring and control of the international entities
  • Preparation and analysis of accounting reconciliations for certain balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting working papers for a small number of entities in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Responsible for the overseas legal entity regulatory/statutory reporting for the subsidiary and coordination of the annual audit process
  • Assisting with the preparation of year end accounting papers relating to key areas
  • Updating and enhancing process documentation and accounting guidance memos and papers
  • Supports the team in producing technical accounting papers for acquisitions and other complex technical matters
  • Providing ad‑hoc projects as and when needed by senior management
Experience & Qualifications
  • Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 1‑3 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CA)
  • Experience of working within the financial services sector is beneficial
  • Exposure to IFRS is a MUST
  • Strong audit background
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP
  • Strong stakeholder engagement
  • Strong excel systems experience
  • Be a self‑starter and deliver reports in a timely and accurate manner

An international financial services firm that has had tremendous growth over the past ten years through global expansion and aggressive acquisitions. A real competitor in its market.

Although the business prides itself on being highly professional, there is a great feel in the office that is created by the friendly and interactive culture. Collaboration is a big thing in the finance team and there is always opportunity to move around.

You will work closely with the International Financial Controller, with the daily and monthly duties being your primary focus, in addition to any process enhancements to improve the day‑to‑day reporting framework. Managing multiple audits will also be part and parcel of this role, as you will be a main contact point for the auditors.

For this role, we are preferably looking for candidates happy to go into the great London offices three days per week.

Daily Rate/Salary

This accountant opportunity in London will pay in the region of £60k-65k per annum, depending on your level of experience and industry background.

This assignment will be for a minimum of 12 months and we are looking at candidates on no more than four weeks’ notice.
