Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a Mid Kent based client, supporting the preparation of financial statements across multiple group entities and acting as the primary contact for external auditors on technical matters.

You will apply IFRS and UK GAAP, lead technical accounting projects, review contracts, and advise on revenue recognition policies, supported by strong Excel and ERP usage.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA with proven technical accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements.
• Experience in audit, technical accounting or financial reporting environments.
• Experience preparing or auditing consolidated financial statements in large/complex organisations.
• Experience managing external audit relationships and liaising with professional advisers.
• Advanced Excel skills and exposure to large ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

Working within a specialist financial reporting team, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of financial statements across multiple group entities, managing technical accounting projects, and acting as the primary contact for external auditors on technical matters.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join our Mid Kent based client. The successful candidate will act as the organisation's expert on complex accounting issues, providing expert guidance on IFRS, UK GAAP, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting matters.

Description

• Researching, interpreting, and applying IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards to complex business transactions and new initiatives.
• Preparing technical accounting papers, reviewing contracts, and advising on appropriate accounting treatments and revenue recognition policies.
• Preparing complex Financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation for external audit purposes.
• Acting as the key point of contact for auditors on technical accounting matters and resolving complex accounting issues.
• Leading the implementation of new accounting standards across the organisation and advising stakeholders on the financial reporting implications.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across financial reporting systems, processes, and controls.
• Supporting ad-hoc technical accounting and finance projects as required.

Profile

The Successful Financial Accountant Should Have

• ACA qualification, or ACCA/CIMA with proven technical accounting experience.
