Overview

As Finance & Treasury Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller with managing the group’s financial control environment, statutory compliance, and reporting processes. The role offers hands‑on experience in foreign exchange (FX) management, treasury activities and cash‑flow monitoring, making it an excellent opportunity for a part‑qualified or early‑career accountant to develop practical skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the FC with the preparation and consolidation of group accounts in accordance with UK GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and key ledgers
• Complete statutory compliance activities
• Coordinate the statutory audit and liaise with external auditors
• Review and improve internal controls across the group
• Monitor daily and weekly cash‑flow (multi‑currency), ensuring accuracy and flagging any variances
• Manage foreign‑currency exposures and treasury‑related tasks (e.g. track FX positions, update forecasts, liaise with banks)
• Prepare VAT, corporation tax and other statutory filings
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing variance analysis and insights
• Prepare ad‑hoc financial analysis and reports for strategic projects, investment appraisals and operational performance
• Maintain clear documentation of financial processes, controls and treasury procedures

Qualifications

• Part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
• Experience in finance, accounting or audit environments preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP
• Strong Excel and IT skills (experience with Microsoft NAV desired but not essential)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, able to work with both financial and non‑financial colleagues
• Proactive, eager to learn and able to prioritise multiple tasks
• Ability to take direction and support the FC in a variety of projects
