Job summary

Journey Further is seeking a Finance Specialist to join our Leeds team. You will manage credit control, handle client billing queries, and support month-end processes in a fast-paced marketing agency environment.

You will work closely with RevOps and Client Leads to keep data immaculate, cash flow steady, and records fully auditable. AAT studies are encouraged as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a broad finance, accounting, or transactional role.
• Direct experience handling credit control and ledger reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Xero and spreadsheet data manipulation.
• Foundational understanding of VAT rules and PO systems.
• Willingness to communicate with clients by phone to chase invoices.
• Pride in clean ledgers, balanced reconciliations and accurate records.
• AAT qualification in progress preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day credit control, contacting clients to secure payments and maintain relationships.
• Handle client billing queries with internal leads to resolve disputes quickly.
• Perform credit checks, set up new accounts, and capture accurate billing details.
• Monitor aged debtors daily and escalate to Finance Manager as needed.
• Conduct daily multi-currency bank reconciliations and ensure cash movements match.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for bank, cards, petty cash, and supplier statements.
• Process supplier invoices, verify PO approvals, schedule payments, and resolve queries.
• Assist with basic month-end tasks, including journals for accruals and prepayments.
• Collaborate with RevOps on retainer models, media spend reconciliations, and contracts.
• Process staff expenses and monitor corporate card usage in line with policy.
