About the Role
You’ll be responsible for driving profitability, optimising workflow, and ensuring reporting supports performance, all while working closely with senior leadership. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director, and this role is intended to evolve into a Finance Director position as the agency scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and insightful management reporting, using data to guide both financial decisions and resource allocation across a 40-person team
- Equip client and delivery teams with tailored profitability and productivity reports, enabling smarter, faster decisions
- Manage and interpret P&Ls across UK and China, including cross-border considerations such as multi-currency, tax implications, media spend on the balance sheet, and intercompany transactions
- Maintain and evolve agency rate cards and commercial models that support sustainable growth
- Lead resource planning across UK and CN teams, ensuring the right people are working on the right projects at the right time
- Compile and share regular client profitability and team productivity reports, ensuring these are embedded into operational rhythm
- Own the alignment between contracts and invoicing to ensure accurate billing and financial compliance
- Act as the point person for financial reporting to HQ, handling regular and ad hoc requests
- Recommend and implement process automations to increase accuracy and efficiency in both finance and operations
- Ensure strong and consistent usage of Xero (accounting) and Productive (project management) platforms
Skills and Experience Required
- Solid experience in financial management within a Creative, Digital or Professional Services environment
- Demonstrated ability to turn data into actionable insights that improve commercial outcomes
- Comfortable managing complex financial structures, including multi-entity P&Ls, cross-border accounting, and varied pricing models
- Confident using Xero, Productive, or similar tools to manage financial and operational performance
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially minded, with a passion for continuous improvement
- Strong communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and presenting to senior leadership
- Part qualified/ Fully qualified
- A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, growing business
