Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Member of Technical Staff for Finance Research in a fully remote role. You will design evaluation frameworks for AI agents in finance and advance financial reasoning to improve AI performance.

The role requires an advanced degree in finance-related fields, with a PhD strongly preferred, plus deep domain expertise in investment research, capital markets, or risk management. Excellent communication and writing are essential.

Role Responsibilities

• Design and evolve evaluation frameworks for AI agents in financial domains, including benchmark suites and scoring methodologies.
• Conduct original research on financial reasoning and decision-making, translating findings into measurable improvements in AI performance.
• Develop and curate datasets and benchmark environments that reflect real-world enterprise finance challenges.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to evaluate and improve finance-focused models and agentic systems.
• Analyze model behavior and performance trends to generate actionable insights and guide research priorities.
• Publish research findings and best practices that enhance understanding of AI capabilities in finance.

Requirements

• Have an advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a related field, with a PhD strongly preferred.
• Possess deep domain expertise in finance areas such as investment research, capital markets, or risk management.
• Have demonstrated experience in conducting rigorous research and developing analytical methodologies in finance.
• Have strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a proven track record of solving complex problems.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing research reports.
