Job description

Job Title: Finance Process Manager

Location: Witham Hybrid (minimum 3 days on-site per week)

Salary: £50,269 – £55,501 per annum

Contract: Permanent | Full-time (37 hours per week)

We are recruiting an experienced Finance Process Manager to join a dynamic finance team. This is a key role for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who wants to lead finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable workflows, and help maintain the financial integrity of a large public service organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, supporting team members and improving KPIs.
  • Oversee daily cash management, including cashflow forecasts, bank transfers, and surplus cash investment.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including payroll journals to HR records.
  • Own the month-end process, posting prepayments, accruals, deferred and accrued income entries.
  • Manage weekly supplier payment runs of up to £1m and above.
  • Advise on VAT compliance, manage monthly VAT returns, and perform annual partial exemption calculations.
  • Assist in year-end financial statements, preparing audit deliverables and responding to queries.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable teams and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT compliance and returns.
  • Experience with Unit 4 ERP or similar financial systems is desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and work with accuracy under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
