Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking a qualified Finance Business Partner for a 6-month contract in Birmingham. The role involves providing assurances on governance and driving accountability for cost control across directorates. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex environments and strong stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of government accounting is essential, along with the ability to oversee financial processes. This position requires 3 days on-site each week, offering a daily rate of £480 - £525.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with experience in a complex environment.
• Knowledge of Government accounting requirements (DEL/AME funding).
• Project experience would be beneficial.
• Experience dealing with Senior Stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide assurance and challenge in cost control.
• Act as the CFO’s representative at review meetings.
• Review and endorse Change and Investment Papers.
• Oversee the month-end financial accounts close.
• Prepare for year-end audit.
