Job summary

Ipsum Utilities Limited is seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner to support the Power Division across the North Power region, collaborating with operational teams to ensure robust financial governance, controls and accurate reporting. You will own the full balance sheet, manage cash flow and working capital, and partner with commercial teams to develop forecasts and budgets.

A part-qualified accountant with strong Excel and systems skills will thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant with strong desire to progress in a commercial environment.
• Experience from an accounting role, with strong Excel and systems skills.
• Ideally exposure to commercial finance and ability to work at pace and drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own the full balance sheet, including debtor and creditor management, tax control accounts, and all reconciliations.
• Complete monthly P&L and deliver accurate P&L reporting.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to develop forecasts, budgets and financial plans.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
• Ensure control compliance with finance and commercial processing teams.
• Review payroll process ahead of Finance Business Partner sign-off.
• Prepare and manage cashflow and working capital information.
• Ensure best-practice financial controls are adhered to and continuously improved.
