We are working with a well-respected engineering and Pumping solutions business seeking a Finance Operations Business Partner to join their commercial finance team.

This is a highly visible and analytical finance position supporting senior leadership across operations, finance, and commercial functions.

The position focuses on delivering accurate branch reporting, improving operational efficiency, and driving financial performance through data-led insight and partnership with key stakeholders.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and report monthly branch performance, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of management information
  • Analyse trends and highlight key variances against budget and forecast, supporting informed decision-making
  • Build effective relationships with Regional Operations Managers and branch teams to drive performance improvements
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leaders, influencing operational and commercial outcomes
  • Lead regular financial reviews with branches, identifying opportunities for efficiency, benchmarking, and improvement
  • Support new manager and colleague onboarding, delivering training on financial processes and reports
  • Prepare month-end journals and analysis, investigating anomalies and explaining key movements
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes, maintaining and developing consolidation models and reports
  • Challenge current practices to drive efficiency, standardisation, and continuous improvement
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and ad-hoc finance projects as required
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong financial and operational analysis skills with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Commercially minded with experience working alongside non-finance stakeholders
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credibility and influence across all levels
  • Proven capability to manage competing priorities and deliver within strict deadlines
  • Strong planning, time management, and attention to detail
  • Part or fully qualified AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or ICAEW or equivalent experience
  • Proactive, curious mindset with a drive to challenge and improve processes
