Job summary

Reading Voluntary Action is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to manage our finance systems, budgeting, reporting and forecasting within a vibrant charity team.

You will ensure financial integrity, compliance with regulatory requirements, and robust administration of restricted and unrestricted income streams within a small but lively team.

Qualifications

• Experience: Min of 3 years' experience in hands-on bookkeeping, finance admin or management accounting.
• Qualified in ACCA/CIMA or AAT Level 3 or 4 or equivalent.
• Charity sector experience and knowledge of Charity SORP considered beneficial.
• Experience with restricted and unrestricted funds management.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Professional to manage our finance systems, budgeting, reporting and forecasting.

The Job Purpose is to support the charity by delivering accurate, timely, and robust financial administration. Responsible for maintaining financial integrity, legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring management of restricted and unrestricted income streams.

Responsibilities include:

• Budget and Strategic Management
• Payroll, Pensions & Tax
• Reporting & Audit Support
• Experience: Min of 3 years' experience in hands-on bookkeeping, finance admin or management accounting.
• Qualifications: P/Q ACCA/CIMA, AAT Level 3 or 4 qualified, or equivalent will be considered.
• Software: High proficiency using cloud accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables,data analysis and reporting.
• Values: A strong commitment to the charity’s core mission
• Experience in the charity or sector.
• Knowledge of Charity SORP
• Exp. managing restricted and unrestricted funds
• Exp. preparing Gift Aid claims.
• Exp. supporting audits or independent examinations.
• Knowledge of Theatre Tax Relief
• Experience of VAT accounting within a charity environment
