Job description

Are you a finance professional who enjoys working with numbers and making sure things are right?

We’re looking for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team and play an important role in making sure income is accurately processed and financial records are kept up to date.

You’ll be working with colleagues across the business to investigate queries, resolve discrepancies and make sure payments are allocated correctly. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is organised, customer focused and enjoys solving problems as part of a busy team.

Please note: This is a Fixed term contract ending in December 2027

What’s in it for you….

In addition to the salary, we offer a number of benefits, including:

  • High street discount schemes
  • Health cash plans
  • 26 days’ annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
  • Flexible bank holidays – take them when it suits you
  • Car leasing scheme
  • Hybrid working – offering you the flexibility to thrive in your role. You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately two to three days per week in the office once settled in the role. This is flexible and depends on meeting cycles and board activity. We also offer an optional nine-day fortnight scheme, allowing you to compress your hours if it suits the role.

What you’ll be doing……

  • Accurately process income, including rents, service charges and other payments, across our Housing Management and Finance systems
  • Make sure transactions are completed within agreed deadlines and service standards
  • Reconcile transactions and investigate any discrepancies or queries
  • Investigate unknown receipts by working with banks, internal teams, DWP, allpay and other relevant organisations
  • Maintain and clear suspense accounts, making sure outstanding items are resolved promptly
  • Process tenant account adjustments and other financial transactions as required
  • Raise invoices, monitor debtor accounts and support effective credit control by sending statements and reminders
  • Work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to improve processes and find more efficient ways of working
  • Provide support and cover across the wider Finance team when needed
  • Deliver a high-quality service while keeping customer service, value for money and continuous improvement at the heart of what you do
