Job description

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and exceptional Support Engineer to join their fast-growing, innovative company based in Cambridge. As an Engineer, you will expand an already-established support team, dedicated to supporting customers using the company's software. You will be using your skills and knowledge to handle real world problems and perform common tasks as part of a support and test team. The ideal candidate would be able to work in a flexible manner as part of a 24 / 7 support team including early mornings, late nights and weekends. The role will be remote (working from home), however you will be required to travel to their head office in Cambridge for an all‑team meeting every 6-8 weeks.

Responsibilities
  • Answer front‑line support questions
  • Instruct the customer to perform basic procedures e.g. changing the basic parameters on the core software
  • Be able to install, remove and upgrade our products, often online with the customer
  • Suggest and implement improvements on procedures
  • Plan, design, develop, manage, document, test, deploy, and support new and existing customer‑facing procedures
  • Plan and execute Test Scenarios by creating / following instructions and observing and recording results
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Higher degree in Computer Science or Engineering; or similar experience
  • Some knowledge of Linux
  • Software development of product life cycles
  • Experience of Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Team‑player, experience of working in teams
  • Experience of Testing software
