Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an AAT Level 4 professional for a finance role in Chester. This 9-month contract offers a hybrid work model and a chance to work directly under the Head of Finance. Responsibilities include managing finance transactions, cashflow, and reconciliations, as well as assisting in budget management. Ideal candidates will have strong Excel skills and good communication abilities, with a background in not-for-profit or public sector finance preferred.

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 4 qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Thorough understanding of debits and credits.
  • Previous experience using Excel pivot tables and vlookups.

Responsibilities

  • Process all finance transactions including sales and purchase invoices.
  • Manage cashflow and perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Set up new suppliers and approve payment runs.
  • Monitor income and expenditure, raise invoices as required.
  • Assist in management of company budgets for forecasts.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Produce reports and process payroll journals.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register.

About Our Client

This role is ideal for an AAT Level 4 professional who is looking for a step up in their career and wanting more exposure to management accounting duties.

Those with experience with finance within in the not for profit/ public sector industry will be highly desirable for this post.

Job Description
  • Ensure all finance transactions have been processed including sales and purchase invoices
  • Managing the company cashflow, bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Working closely with new suppliers setting them up on the accounting system and approving payment runs
  • Identify and monitor income and expenditure and raise invoices as required
  • Assist in management of company budgets for forecasts
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Producing reports and processing payroll journals
  • Assist with maintaining the fixed asset register
The Successful Applicant
  • AAT Level 4 qualification or qualified by experience to this level with a relevant degree
  • Thorough understanding of debits and credits
  • Must have previous experience in using Excel pivot tables, vlookups
  • Proven ability to work independently and operate at a confident level
  • Good communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
