Job summary

The Independent Commission for Reconciliation and Information Recovery (ICRIR) is seeking a Finance Officer to support monthly reporting, controls and governance. Based in Belfast with hybrid working, you will liaise with the Finance Manager and the shared services provider to ensure accurate financial processing.

You will have at least 1 year in a finance role, be proficient in Excel and a computerised financial system, and be able to work collaboratively across stakeholders, including NI

• Completion of AAT exams or IATI or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• CCAB or equivalent part-qualified accountant.
• Experience in a finance function (1 year) and proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the finance function by putting in place monthly controls to provide high-quality financial reporting and governance.
• Leading on transaction processing and being the finance contact for the Commission with the shared services provider.
• Processing monthly journals, purchase orders, receipts and invoices for payment.
• Monitoring and responding to queries in the Finance Team inbox.
• Liaising with stakeholders including sponsor department (Northern Ireland Office), HM Treasury, Internal Audit and the National Audit Office.
• Supporting the year-end reporting, ensuring all audit requirements are met to enable the successful delivery of the year end accounts.
• Addressing audit recommendations and continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures.
• Prepare ad-hoc costings, budgetary and expenditure reports.
• Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.

About The Role

We are recruiting a Finance Officer to be part of the Independent Commissionfor Reconciliation and Information Recovery (ICRIR) to deliver importantworkstreams that deliver on key objectives for the Commission. The role is afast-paced and highly collaborative role, reporting to the Finance Manager.The successful candidate will be a driven, collaborative colleague, with goodattention to detail, have experience of working to tight deadlines and willpossess the ability and communication skills to build strong workingrelationships at all levels across the ICRIR and various stakeholders.

Person Specification

Essential CriteriaQualifications

• 1. Successful completion of all examinations of the Association ofAccounting Technicians (AAT) or the Institute of Accounting Techniciansof Ireland (IATI) or an equivalent qualification.
• Or
• 2. CCAB or equivalent part qualified accountant.

Experience and Skills

• 1 years' experience working in a finance function.
• Experience of a using computerised financial system.
• Proficient in using excel and other Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to work as part of a team
• High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
• Demonstrate the values set out in the ICRIR code of Conduct
• Willingness and ability to be assessed against the requirements forCTC clearance, if not already cleared.

Location

Belfast

Our main operational base is in Belfast, with an operational site in London. Staff are split across both the London and Belfast Offices; therefore, you may be required to travel to London as well as maintain regular attendance in the office. You may also work from your home address, in line with the Commission’s approach on hybrid working and with the agreement of your line manager.
