Job description

An international business with a South Wales operation is looking to appoint a UK Finance Manager to support the global finance function. This role is pivotal in ensuring a steady day‑to‑day operation for the wider business, as well as locally. This role offers a competitive salary, which is dependant on experience and salary expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial reports including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate weekly financial updates and management reports for US Corporate headquarters.
  • Monitor and report manufacturing variances, operational costs, and key performance indicators.
  • Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform detailed VAT, stock, and bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
  • Manage intercompany transactions between UK and US entities, including consolidations and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards (FRS 102/UK GAAP), VAT, Corporation Tax, payroll, and statutory reporting including Companies House filings.
  • Lead audit management, coordinate with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and address audit findings.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, production variances, and provide financial support for operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Manage and develop a finance team, fostering continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Serve as the primary UK finance contact for US Corporate, auditors, tax advisers, and other stakeholders.
