About the opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Finance Manager to manage the full spectrum of finance operations across multiple entities, including those under FCA regulation. Working within a fast-paced dynamic environment with a small team, this role encompasses transactional processing, compliance reporting, treasury management, FP&A, audit preparation, and business partnering. What you'll be doing
Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulatory requirements, including capital adequacy, safeguarding, and reporting under the Electronic Money Regulations.
  • Support the preparation of safeguarding reconciliation and audit reporting processes.
  • Prepare accurate e-money and bank reconciliations in multiple currencies.
  • Submit VAT returns for UK and German entities.
  • Assist in preparation of consolidated statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to meet tight deadlines.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities and support the broader finance function including AR, AP and GL maintenance within the ERP.
  • Execute payroll accurately each month.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and prepare consolidated monthly management accounts for the UK and German entities.
Treasury and cash management
  • Manage treasury function to ensure smooth cashflow and efficient use of capital.
  • Ensure payments are made on time and revenue is received as due.
  • Maintain sufficient funds to avoid regulatory breaches.
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process across the group.
  • Work with various stakeholders and large data sets to drive business insights.
  • Monitor key KPIs and financial metrics, ensuring visibility on performance and regulatory thresholds.
  • Help prepare management pack for board presentations.
Your profile

Essential

  • Qualified/part qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance function, including experience in a regulated financial services or payments environment.
  • Strong understanding of FCA EMI requirements, especially around safeguarding and capital adequacy.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-entity and multi-currency group consolidations.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Metabase, Looker etc.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
  • Ability to communicate financial and regulatory matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A can-do attitude who is keen on problem solving.
Desirable
  • Experience in start-up or scale-up fintech environments.
  • German language proficiency or experience in working for a German corporation.
