Job description

Hutcheon Mearns are working exclusively with a privately owned global business to recruit a Finance Manager on a staff basis. Part Time or Full Time working patterns will be considered.

The Opportunity

The primary focus of the Finance Manager is to lead the finance and administration function of the UK branch. Reporting directly to the Country Manager and working closely with Group Headquarters in Dubai. This role will act as a key business partner providing financial insight, operational support, and strategic guidance to ensure sustainable growth and compliance.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting, reporting, and administration in the UK, while also contributing to group‑level initiatives.

Key objectives for the role include:
  • Act as the trusted finance partner and advisor to the leadership team
  • Lead the full spectrum of finance operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to Group HQ
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and cost control
  • Ensure statutory compliance with UK accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external partners
  • Maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Support project costing, pricing analysis, and investment decisions
  • Monitor intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and group reporting requirements
  • Drive process improvements, systems optimisation, and financial discipline across the UK operations
  • Contribute to group-wide initiatives and collaborate with finance teams in other branches
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including UK/US/UN sanctions
  • Oversee administrative functions as required to support efficient branch operations
Background and Experience:
  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS)
  • Minimum 5+ years' finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Proven track record of working in a multinational or group reporting environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK statutory accounting, tax, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and financial modelling skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP / accounting systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience in industrial/ manufacturing/ distribution industries desirable
  • Auditing background or exposure to external audit processes is an advantage
  • Has proven ability to interact and develop respect with and range of stakeholders and senior level management
  • Is strategically aware and action orientated
  • Is a proven self-starter, capable of working under own direction
  • High level of integrity and discretion in dealing with sensitive information
  • A keen attention to detail
