Job summary

A private-equity backed business in Coventry is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee overhead cost management and financial planning. The role involves budgeting, cost management, and collaboration with senior management to provide financial insights. Strong analytical skills and experience with financial software are essential. This position includes a flexibility of working from home two days a week, and offers up to a 10% bonus.

Qualifications

Finance Manager - Overheads

Finance Manager - Overheads is a brand‑new role within a fast‑paced, Private‑Equity backed business in Coventry, reporting to the Finance Director as part of the FP&A team. The role focuses on overhead cost management and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for overhead costs, ensuring group completion to deadlines for consolidated overview and group analysis.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost‑saving opportunities and ensure efficient allocation of resources from local and group opportunities.
  • Accounting: Responsible for the accounting of overheads, in the correct period, ensuring P&L and Balance Sheets are correct from an accruals and prepayment perspective, inclusive of headcount numbers; feed cash‑flow forecasts with relevant information.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support decision‑making.
  • Reporting & Commentary: Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior leadership and investors for Overhead responsibility areas and the wider Group, including Capital and Exceptional Items expenditure reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Part or Qualified ACCA, or CIMA, or qualified by experience.
  • Experience: Experience in financial management, with some experience on overheads or cost control.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software SAP, Oracle, FP&A tools, and excellent communication abilities.

Requirements: The role requires a confident and strong character, as it will liaise with Senior Managers across the business.

Working hours: The role is based in the office in Coventry (parking available) three days per week, two days from home.

Compensation: Up to 10% bonus.
