Travel into Wales office 2 days per Month, £55,000 - £60,000, Pension contribution over 20%

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Finance Director to oversee and strengthen financial management within a well-established public sector organisation. This is a strategic role providing leadership across the finance function, ensuring financial processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities. You will play a central role in supporting decision‑making, delivering accurate reporting, and developing a high‑performing finance function.

What you’ll do
  • Lead a team of finance professionals, fostering collaboration, clear accountability, and development.
  • Ensure financial systems, processes, and controls are effective, transparent, and meet statutory and organisational requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial accounts, management reporting, and year‑end processes.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and medium‑term financial planning in line with organisational objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with senior colleagues across the organisation and external stakeholders, providing expert financial guidance.
  • Map and improve financial processes, clarifying responsibilities and handovers across teams.
