A financial services company based in Bury is looking for a qualified accountant to support their finance team for a 12-month maternity cover. Overview

Location: Bury, with hybrid working options
Department: Finance and Corporate Services
Hours: Full time (part time considered)
Contract Type: 12 months to cover maternity leave, commencing Sept 2023
Salary: £39,284 - £43,239 (Band 5.1 - 6.1)

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and the finance team.
  • Prepare management accounts, annual budgets and year‑end accounts in accordance with Charities SORP regulations.
  • Receive handover from the current Finance Manager.
  • Communicate financial information to non‑financial staff and volunteers in a supportive way.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCCA, CIPFA or equivalent).
  • Experience in the charity / not‑for‑profit sector.
  • High IT literacy with advanced Excel skills and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to convey financial information to non‑financial staff and volunteers effectively at all levels.
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Church of England (experience not required).
