Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations.

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Oversee MCPS reporting and royalty accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare year-end accounts to final draft.
  • Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts.
  • Manage cash flow and supervise the accounts team.

Overview

Handle are delighted to be working with an established live music company in their search for a Finance Manager. This is a unique and rare opportunity to work for an ever-expanding company within the industry looking after music promotions, venues, and artist touring.

This brand new Finance Manager position will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with the different departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
  • Generate custom financial reports for management to support decision-making processes.
  • Track budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for clients
  • Oversee quarterly MCPS reporting and half yearly royalty accounting for labels.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.
  • Prepare year-end accounts to final draft (excluding tax calculations and companies house submissions)
  • Liaise with external accountant to finalise end of year accounts.
  • Manage cash flow.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounts team.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Qualifications
  • Accounting qualification ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification is essential
  • Rounded knowledge and experience with Sage accountancy software.
  • A minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Financial Controller in the music industry.
  • Royalties experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Music experience is desirable but if not, media/entertainment industry experience is essential. You will have a passion for all things music and be a regular gig and festival goer!
