Job description
Job Overview

You will be responsible for accurately monitoring, forecasting and planning income levels for the Trust and will play a key role in the annual contracting process.

Provision of a systems administration service for the National Tariff Payment System monitoring systems (CIVICA) to ensure all day-to-day operations of the systems are completed to agreed time scales.

Expert on the National Tariff Payment System (NTPS) and be responsible for interpreting and implementing all aspects of NTPS policy and fully quantifying the impact of these changes on the Trust's income base, for both short and medium-term plans.

Lead and develop the strategic information and income reporting processes required by the Finance Department & Trust.

Main duties of the job

Manage month end closedown routines ensuring the financial ledger and CIVICA are reconciled to appropriate data interfaces.

Provide expert specialist advice on the implications of NTPS to Senior Finance and Non-Finance Managers and Clinicians.

Work with other senior finance colleagues to ensure that the annual budget setting process is robust; links effectively to the annual operating plan process and produces a budget which achieves financial and other targets.

Ensure data quality concerns raised externally are addressed by the Trust Data Quality Group and help to identify and disseminate best practice in data quality across the team and the organisation.

Liaise with Informatics teams to ensure the Trust demonstrates it is recording activity in line with NTPS guidelines and that the implications of current and forecast activity and finance trends are understood.

To ensure daily, monthly and annual system routines and reports are scheduled, reconciled and completed to timetable, therefore maintaining effective utilisation of system resources, as well as minimizing the effect on user response times.

To ensure that complete and accurate procedures are provided, in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions and Audit requirements, for the administration of all system applications.
