Job summary

Everest Group seeks a Financial Accountant to support the finance function for the Company and managed entities, with duties spanning financial statement prep, reinsurance accounting, and regulatory reporting. This role reports to the Financial Controller and offers exposure to audits and budget processes.

Candidates should hold a recognized accounting designation and have 2+ years in financial services experience, preferably in reinsurance or investment management, with strong Excel skills and

Qualifications

• An internationally recognized accounting designation preferred (ACA, CMA, CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• 2+ years relevant post qualification experience within the Financial Services industry, experience in re(insurance) and investment management preferred.
• Knowledge of the Bermuda insurance market and regulatory environment is preferred.
• Extremely strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and reporting schedules.
• Review of (re)insurance contracts and maintain reinsurance accounts.
• Preparation of bank reconciliations, cashbooks and reinsurance analysis reports.
• Help maintain a number of accounting ledgers.
• Support the internal audit, external audit, statutory reporting and GAAP reporting processes.
• Assist with the implementation of operational improvements and changes to relevant policies, procedures and processes.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Various ad hoc projects and duties, as required.
