Job summary

JSS Search Limited partners with a growing organisation to appoint a Finance Manager in Manchester, operating on a hybrid basis. You will report to the Head of Finance and balance technical accounting with business partnering and team leadership.

You will oversee ledger activities, month-end close, and timely financial reporting, while driving process improvements and supporting audits. A professional accounting qualification and strong stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience managing or mentoring finance team members
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities and month-end close processes
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with relevant accounting standards
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accounting records
• Prepare monthly and annual management reports
• Support year-end audit processes and tax reporting requirements
• Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
• Partner with senior leadership to improve financial performance and operational efficiency
• Support cost-saving initiatives and process improvement projects
• Evaluate financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
• Lead, coach and develop members of the finance team
• Support training, mentoring and performance development activities
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high-quality financial reporting
