Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Leatherhead is seeking an experienced finance professional to own financial reporting, governance, and internal controls in a complex contracting environment. You will ensure general ledger integrity and timely financial information for decision-making.

You will report to Corporate and work with external auditors, overseeing US GAAP, IFRS, and UK GAAP compliance. This role involves leading a team, including Chennai, and supporting policy development and SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in a matrix organisation and contracting/project environments.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to manage teams.
• Ability to oversee Chennai team remotely and collaborate globally.
• Strong Excel skills for financial data analysis and reporting.
• Deep knowledge of accounting principles and standards across US GAAP/IFRS/UK GAAP.
• Familiarity with internal and external audit processes (SOX).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Costpoint and Microsoft Dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of accurate financial records and general ledger activity in line with US & UK standards.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Lead accounting professionals and oversee the Chennai team; delegate tasks and provide guidance.
• Analyse and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure internal reporting supports operations and corporate leadership.
• Coordinate with auditors during annual audits and other compliance engagements.
• Support development and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance accounting operations and transparency.
