Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Finance Manager to join the EPUKI Finance team at the Leeds office. This is a broad and impactful role, supporting the commercial and trading teams through the analysis of financial performance and the development of solutions to optimise outcomes and drive value.

The successful candidate will be a high-performing finance professional with strong capabilities in data analysis, financial modelling (using Excel and other tools), and problem solving. The role requires a creative, solution-oriented mindset, the ability to operate as a self-starter, and a consistent focus on delivering high-quality outputs. Success in this position demands the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a strong drive to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and analysing weekly and monthly Gross Margin results, conducting reviews with the Trading team, and ensuring timely month-end reporting in line with accounting standards.
  • Developing and maintaining management accounts, forecast models, and reforecasting processes, including any changes from new assets or organisational adjustments.
  • Performing financial modelling, long-term valuations, and strategic analysis, including sensitivity analysis, outage optimisation, and support for trading strategy development.
  • Managing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow items, and central reporting (pensions, tax, KPIs, statutory accounts) for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Supporting business planning and budgeting, consolidating gross margin and cost materials, action tracking and commentary for the GB Gas business unit.
  • Co-ordinating and providing information for audits, external submissions and group reporting, ensuring compliance and deadlines are met.
  • Identifying and developing risks, opportunities and process improvements to enhance financial performance and reporting quality.
  • Providing ongoing support to senior finance, site, and central teams on reporting, performance analysis and ad-hoc information requests.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Background
  • Experience of dealing wtih large, complex data sets and financial models - essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and their appropriate application - essential.
  • Basic understanding of UK taxation - essential.
  • Experience of working in an energy, manufacturing or production focussed environment - desirable.
  • Experience of SAP - desirable.
