Job description

STS Engine Services is hiring an experienced Finance Manager in Stansted, United Kingdom. This role is built for a technically strong accounting professional who can manage full cycle financial operations, support leadership with accurate reporting, and drive the commercial insight needed to support a growing aviation business. You will oversee core accounting activities, lead monthly management reporting, own audit and statutory requirements, and serve as a trusted financial partner to the Managing Director and senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations and accruals
  • Posting journals related to reconciliations
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack
  • Presentation of management accounts to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Oversight of aged debt and debtor cashflow
  • AP invoice approvals
  • VAT returns
  • Full ownership of audit requests and statutory accounts requests
  • Assistance with P11D processing
  • Payroll posting
  • Review of budgets to actuals
  • Accounts reviews and GL posting analysis including identification of mis postings
  • Ownership of budgeting and forecasting
  • Ownership of day to day onsite finance requests from the Managing Director and leadership team
  • Project, customer, and sales stream profitability reviewing and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and provide commercial recommendations to the leadership team
  • Line management of onsite finance support staff
Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar all round Finance role is essential
  • Aviation experience preferred but not required
  • Qualified ACA, CIMA, or ACCA
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Practice experience preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with financial management software, ideally Sage Line 50
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical abilities
  • Experience working with multiple currencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work confidentially and with integrity
  • Flexible and willing to assist wherever required
  • Professional presentation and conduct consistent with company standards
