Job summary

A charitable organization based in Warmley is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee accounts and lead the finance team. You will manage year-end accounts, improve financial processes, and ensure timely reporting. The ideal candidate will be qualified in finance or have equivalent experience, possess excellent communication skills, and have previous management experience. Familiarity with SAGE 200 is beneficial.

Job description
  • Contract Type: Permanent. Full time 37.5hpw or Part time minimum 30 hrs per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Charity as Finance Manager. This varied role will include oversight of the management and year end accounts, leading on the annual audit, support the FD with budgeting, reforecasts and pricing.

Managing the finance team, you’ll oversee the transactional process and improve processes. Qualified or qualified by experience, you’ll have previous line management and commercial experience, be an excellent communicator, able to plan and prioritise to meet tight deadlines and have a strong eye for detail. Previous experience of SAGE 200 would be advantageous.

Job purpose
  • To be responsible for overseeing the production of the monthly management accounts and the production of the year end statutory accounts.
  • To lead on the further development of the Charity’s accounting systems, controls and reporting.
  • To work with the operational teams to develop integrated business solutions to support efficient, effective operational and administration systems for the Charity.
  • To ensure that the accounting systems are used in the most effective way and that the accounting records are kept up to date
  • To ensure that all regulatory returns are completed in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that the Finance Office is appropriately staffed at all times and provides a quality service to the Charity.
  • To encourage an expectation of high standards and quality of work and to ensure that the financial control procedures are observed.
  • To attend the Finance Committee from time to time, preparing financial reports and other matters as required, plus taking the minutes.
